How to Freeze Column in Excel

Sometimes you have a big table but you need to see the first column or some columns in your table when you are searching in that table.

For that you can follow these steps;

How to Freeze First Column in Excel;

If you need to freeze the first column you should follow these steps;

1- Click on the View tab.

2- Click on the Freeze Panes.

3- Click on the Freeze First Column.

Now you can see If you move your cursor in the sheet the first column is freezed and you can see it on the left side of the screen.

How to Freeze Column in Excel;

If you need to freeze the column in the middle of the table or when your table was placed on the middle of the sheet and you want to freeze the first column on the table.

you can follow these steps;

In this exaple we want to fix column “C” on the sheet for that

1- Click on the “View” tab.

2- we should select the column in the right side of the column “C”.

3- Click on the “Freeze panes”.

4- Click on the “Freeze Panes” item.

Now you can see when we move our cursor on the sheet the first column is fix.

How to Unfreeze Column in Excel;

1- Click on the “View” tab.

2- Click on the “Freeze Panes”.

3- Click on the “Unfreeze Panes”.
