Sometimes for data entry or sharing files production information or other reasons you need to work with multiple people on the same excel file.
For that you should follow these steps;
How to Multiple Users Work on Same Excel File At The Same Time;
1- Open Excel Program.
2- Click on the File tab.
3- Click on the Option.
4- Click on the “Customize Ribbon”.
5- In the right window you can specify the location of the new command,
Here we are going to put it in the Data tab.
Click on the Data.
Click on the New Group.
Specify your desired name.
6- In the “Choose commands from” click on the arrow to open the droplist.
7- Choose All Commands.
8- Click on " Share Workbooks (Legacy) “.
9- Click on Add.
10- Click on Ok.
Before continue to ask other users who had an exclusive lock on the file to close the excel file and then you should open your file in your computer.
11- Open your Excel file on your computer.
12- Click on the Data tab.
13- Click on “Sheet Workbook (Legacy)”.
14- In the Editing tab, tick “Use the old shared workbooks feature instead of the new co-authoring experience” box.
15- Click Ok.
How to Disable Remove Personal Information from File;
Sometimes you have a problem to share your document for that you should make sure that “Remove personal information from file properties on save” permission in your computer is disabled.
For that you should follow these steps:
1- Click on the File tab.
2- Click on the Option.
3- Click on the Trust Center.
4- Click on the “Trust Center Setting”.
5- Click on the “Privacy Options”.
6- Unselect the “Remove personal information from file properties on save” box.
7- Click Ok.
How to Make an Excel File Shared with Google Drive;
You can share your excel file in google drive too, for that you should follow these steps;
1- Go to your Gmail account and open google drive.
2- Click on the New file and Upload your file.
3- Open your excel file.
4- At the top right corner of the screen click on the Share key.
5- Enter Gmail addresses of the people you want to share this file with them.
- On the right side, you can allow these people to see only the file or to modify the information or enter their data into the shared file.
Here we are going to choose “Editor” to other people have this opportunity to edit the shared file.
6- Click on the Send key.
After that one email will be sent to those people and they can download that file and open it in their computer.
Here I share this file with one of my Gmail accounts and you can see when I enter some data in one sheet in another account those data will be entered in the shared file too.
