We can introduce two methods for creating different headers in your document.
How to Add Different Headers for Each Chapter in Word
If you want to have different headers for each chapter of your document you can split your document into different sections. For that you should follow these steps;
1- Click on the Home tab.
2- In the Paragraph part, Click on the Paragraph sign.
3- Place your cursor at the end of your desired chapter.
4- Click on the Layout tab.
5- Click on the Breaks.
6- Click on the “Next Page”.
You can see the page break at the end of chapter one.
7- Repeat steps three to six for the other chapters of your document.
8- Click on the Insert tab.
9- Click on the “Header”.
10- Click on the “Edit Header”.
11- Click on the Design.
12- Click at the header of the first page of chapter two.
13- Deselect the Link to the Previous button.
14- Repeat steps 12 and 13 for other chapters of your document.
15- Write your desired header for each chapter.
16- Click on the “Close Header and Footer”.
How to Add Different Headers in Odd and Even Pages in Word
If you want to have different headers in odd and even pages of your document you can follow these steps;
1- Click on the Insert tab.
2- Click on the Header.
3- Click on the Edit Header.
4- Select the “Different Odd and Even Pages” box.
Now you can see all headers in even pages were removed.
5- Insert your desired header for odd and even pages.
6- Click on the “Close Header and Footer”.
