How to Create an Editable PDF

Imagine you have a form with different options and you want only some of them will be chosen.
For that, you can choose the checkbox command for creating this form.
How to Create a Checkbox in PDF Form;
Click on Tools > Forms > Edit.
Click on “Add New field”.
Click on CheckBox and then place the Checkbox on each place you need.
1- General;
Choose a different name for each “checkbox”. It is very important because if your checkboxes have the same name, when you select one of them, the others will be chosen, too.
2- Appearance tab;
You can refer to “appearance part” which we explained before in “Textfile tab”.
3- Position;
You can refer to “position part” which we explained before in “Text field” part.
4- Options;
Here you can define, the shape of the checkbox which will appear in the box, something like a checkmark, diamond or other things.
5- Action;
You can refer to “Action part” which we explained before in “Text field” part.
sometimes, you want to create a list of choice for your user, like choose a month in a year or choose some goods in a list. you can use the “List box” and “Dropbox” item to create the list, here I am going to explain these items.
How to Create a Dropdown in PDF Form;
Imagine you want to hold a ceremony and you want to collect some information from your guests for preparing dinner.
1- Click on “Add New Feild” > Dropdown.
2- Place the Dropdown box at each place you need in your form.
3- Right-click on your Dropdown box and click on properties.
General tab;
in this tab, you can specify the name.
in the second row, you can fill tooltip, in this part, you can guide the user to fill the column, due to when they move the mouse to the column your text will be shown.
Another important thing in this tab is in “common properties”, you should tick “Required” box if its necessary to fill that column for you.
Appearance tab;
in this place, you can specify your desired appearance for the text which the user will write in your pdf file.
you can change the size, font, text colour and other qualities which you want.
Position;
in this part, you can change the size of the Text Feild window.
Option;
In “Item” box, you can write names of your items, in the “Export value” box insert the same value with your item, click on “Add” key to add the item to the item list box.
If you want to show the specific item in the top of the Dropdown box items, you can select it. close the Dropbox properties menu.

By clicking “Sort items” box, you can alphabetize your items, in the items list. if you don’t tick that box, you can change the location of your items in the list box.

One of the differences between “Dropdown” with" Listbox" is, you can allow your user to write their custom text.
if you tick “Allow user to enter custom text” box, your user can write their custom text.
How to Create a Listbox in PDF Form;
On the up right side, click on Tasks> Add new feild>List box.
Move your mouse over the area where you want to create the box. drag the edge of windows with your mouse to adjust the size of the window.
Double click on the list box or Right-click on it and choose properties.
General tab;
In this tab, you can specify the name and in the second row, you can fill tooltip,

The only difference between “List box” and “Dropbox " is in this section, write names of your items in the “Item” box and fill “Export value” with the same name, after that click on “add” key, you can see the name of your items in the “item list box”.

In this place by click on “sort item”, you can alphabetize your items.

if you don’t tick this box, you can move your items with “up” and “down” key, in the right side of the box. you can delete your items with clicking in “delete” key.
- In “Listbox” command you can choose as many as items which you have in your list, you can activate this capability by tick “multiple selections”. this option is one of the most significant differences between “List box " and “Dropbox” command.
- If you select “commit selected value immediately " box, “multiple selections” box will be unchecked, and the user only can choose one item.
